Well, your calculator is quite primitive and doesn't take into account the local peculiarities of a taxation system. F.e. there are special rates for each position of the taxation system, so if I want to find out the exact figures, I must take these rates into account. So I prefer this site taxform.io/state-tax/california/5000.html where California's local rates have already been taken into account. |
